The Warriors are now 7-0 after winning the Paris Twins Classic Championship.
Valley Christian faced Cardinal Newman Cardinals in the championship and they did not waste time taking command of the game.
Valley Christian jumped out to a 10-1 lead utilizing their 2-2-1 full court press to help take control of the game early. For Valley Christian, senior forward Jael Butler had no competition down low as she just dominated in the post.
However, Cardinal Newman began to claw back scoring in transition after settling down as a team with 1:40 remaining in the first quarter the score was 14-7 Valley Christian ahead.
The Warrior’s senior guard Jessi Barry executed a shifty move getting to the basket, finishing with a two foot finish floater. The score was 16-7 to end the quarter, Valley Christian.
In the second quarter Valley Christian sparked another run this time 7-1 with 4:23 remaining which made Head Coach Monica Mertle of Cardinal Newman use a timeout.
After the timeout, senior guard Reese Searcy took charge, attacking the basketball aggressively getting fouled. Reece knocked down both free throws cutting the lead to 15.
Valley Christian ended the half up 20 points 36-16.
Cardinal Newman came out with some fight early in the third quarter slowly chipping away at the lead scoring back to back baskets. The score was now 20-36.
But the Warriors once again proved they were too strong for the Cardinals after late back to back threes for the Wolves the lead increased to 46-20 with 2:06 remaining in the third quarter. The quarter ended 46-27 and lead was now 19 points.
The Cardinals won the third quarter 11-10 but it just wasn’t enough to push start a comeback in the fourth.
Valley Christian remained disciplined in the fourth winning the quarter 13-5. Beating Cardinal Newman 59-32.
Senior Forward Jael Butler scored 20 of her 26 points in the first half shooting 75% and added 17 rebounds.

Valley Christian takes on Salesian at home December 17th. Game tips off at 7:00pm.
Cardinal Newman has an away matchup against San Ramon, December 18th at 6:00pm.
